Model Number
DP-D300A
Product Description

The DP-D300A Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) is a deep-water underwater navigation instrument designed for high-precision velocity measurement and seabed tracking. Based on the acoustic Doppler principle, the system measures three-axis velocity relative to the seabed or water column while simultaneously providing real-time altitude data between the transducer array and the seabed.

Operating at a 120 kHz center frequency, the DP-D300A supports long-range bottom tracking up to 300 meters and is designed for reliable operation in demanding subsea environments. The system automatically switches between bottom-tracking and water-tracking modes, ensuring continuous velocity data in complex underwater conditions.

The DP-D300A can operate independently or integrate with Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) to provide accurate motion reference data for underwater vehicles and marine survey platforms.

Key Features

  • 120 kHz acoustic Doppler velocity measurement technology
  • Automatic bottom-tracking and water-tracking mode switching
  • Three-axis real-time velocity output (X, Y, Z)
  • Seabed altitude measurement for underwater navigation
  • Maximum bottom tracking range up to 300 m
  • Internal data logging with ≥312 hours storage capacity
  • RS422 communication interface with PD6 protocol compatibility
  • Built-in system self-diagnostics and data validity evaluation

Advantages

  • Reliable velocity measurement accuracy better than 3‰ ± 3 mm/s
  • Stable velocity output for underwater navigation and motion control
  • Automatic data validity detection improving operational reliability
  • Flexible integration with INS and marine control systems
  • Compact subsea-grade structure suitable for underwater vehicles and platforms

Functions

  • Real-time three-axis underwater velocity measurement
  • Altitude measurement between transducer array and seabed
  • Automatic switching between bottom-tracking and water-tracking modes
  • Internal mission data recording and storage
  • Self-diagnostic system status monitoring
  • Navigation data transmission via RS422 interface

Applications

The DP-D300A Doppler Velocity Log is designed for underwater navigation, motion sensing, and positioning in a wide range of marine and subsea operations, including:

  • Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) navigation
  • Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) positioning and control
  • Unmanned marine robotics platforms
  • Marine hydrographic survey systems
  • Oceanographic research equipment
  • Seabed mapping and underwater inspection missions
  • Offshore engineering and subsea exploration operations
